Home Performance with Energy Star
Program Details
(Only BPI accredited companies contracted with NYSERDA can implement the HPwES prgram)

The first step is to have a Comprehensive Home Assessment (CHA) energy audit. This includes:

Visual inspection of your home and data collection
-
Blower door test to measure how much and where air is leaking from your home

Air filtration evaluation
-
Combustion appliance safety test (i.e. furnace, boiler, stove)

Carbon monoxide detection test

After the CHA, the Green Star energy experts provide with a detailed energy report and a comprehensive home energy solutions proposal for recommended conservation measures.

Upon your acceptance of the energy proposal an application for your home is submitted to NYSERDA
-
When approved by NYSERDA Green Star will schedule the work

Upon completion your home will be restested for for air flow and combustion safety.

A completion report is submitted to NYSERDA and you will receive a 10% to 25% refund for all approved work.
