About Mineral Wool Insulation
Mineral wool insulation is a byproduct of volcanic activity. The combination of natural inorganic material with recycled content makes it a green building product. ROXUL® provides several types of stone fiber insulation for your home.
Roxul AFB (Acoustical Fire Batt)
Roxul AFB is a batt insulation product designed for use when fire resistance and acoustical performance are the key factors for consideration. This semi-rigid batt insulation is intended for interior wall and floor applications, specifically for commercial and industrial construction.
Sound control benefits
Non-combustible and light weight, Roxul AFB has excellent sound absorbing properties.
Fills voids
Roxul AFB is designed for a friction fit into wall partitions and system applications from plant and manufacturing walls to party walls. It is chemically inert and will not promote corrosion.
Makes buildings safer
It will not hold or absorb water or moisture, making it mold, mildew and fungi resistant. With a melting point of approximately 2150 degrees F (1177 C), Roxul AFB is non-combustible and fire-resistant. It does not develop smoke or promote the spread of flames or the release of toxic gases. It is Greenguard certified for healthy indoor air quality.
A green building material
Roxul mineral wool products are made from natural and recycled materials using natural basalt rock and slag (a by-product of steel manufacturing). It is an excellent insulator, saving energy.
